Hello! My name is Nicole del Aguila. I was born and raised in the small town of Grand Forks, BC, where I live today. My interest in the counselling profession stems from a desire to support individuals in navigating life’s difficulties and achieving personal growth. As someone who has struggled to find their place in this world, especially during my early years of post-secondary education, I am passionate about helping individuals learn, grow, and find their purpose through self-care practices and mental wellness.

Prior to pursuing a career in mental health, I completed a Bachelors of Arts at the University of British Columbia followed by a Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate at Capilano University. I enjoy spending my time outdoors, finding peace and inspiration in nature. I am a dedicated and compassionate counsellor in training, currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am deeply passionate about promoting self-care and helping individuals manage stress and anxiety.

I believe in a holistic approach to mental wellness, integrating mindfulness techniques, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and personalized self-care plans to support clients. As a counselling intern my areas of interest include Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I believe in empowering clients by helping them identify their strengths and develop practical strategies to overcome challenges, fostering a positive and proactive approach to mental health.

Areas of Specialty: self-esteem • anger management • grief • trauma • chronic pain • marriages • relationships • anxiety • depression

Hello, I’m Nicholle Miller, a counsellor in training with experience working with people who face a variety of challenges in life, including low self-esteem, anger, grief, trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and problems in relationships and families. I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, appreciating people’s capacity to make changes in their lives and customizing my use of different therapeutic modalities to suit the needs of each individual client.

My diverse approach integrates a variety of techniques, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, humanistic client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices that incorporate somatic components to address trauma stored in the body. These various modalities enable me to customize our sessions so that I can best support each person.

I am currently a student at Yorkville University, and an intern completing my practicum under the supervision of Jadon Ward. I am a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I have worked in a variety of environments, most recently in non-profit and education. I also spent several years working in the tech and oil and gas industries..

I am passionate about representative care, and as someone who is neurodivergent, my goal is to create a safe space where clients can find their strengths and foster resilience. Through self-reflection and guidance in a supportive environment, we will navigate life’s complexities together, uncovering strategies and tools to foster healing, personal growth, and the ability to thrive and lead fulfilling lives.
